En route to Shanghai Disneyland?
Rolls-Royce transfers, private-jet experiences – Peninsula Hotels already knows how to hit the sweet spots for luxury travellers, so it’s no surprise that little ones are spoiled too. All properties this summer are taking part in the “Family Moments” promotion, offering bespoke itineraries for all ages, but our eye is on The Peninsula Shanghai, which has curated a special two-night package, applicable to stays until the end of the year. Not only will kids under the age of 12 be welcomed with tantalising mini cupcakes handmade by the hotel’s pastry chef, there are complimentary children’s meals from the specially created Kids’ Menu, and each family can ride together in a chauffeured limousine with a complimentary round-trip transfer to either the airport or… drum roll… to the brand-new Shanghai Disney Resort, which just opened last month.
Cook up a storm in the Algarve
Portugal is the country on everyone’s hot list, especially for families staying at Conrad Algarve, where kids are treated like the superstars they are. The fun starts at check-in where V.I.Cs are given their own set of room keys and a card inviting them to the Little C Palace Kids’ Club where young budding chefs can participate in new culinary masterclasses designed for parents and children to enjoy together. Try your hand at making the traditional Portuguese seafood dish, cataplana, pizzas or pastries, and better still, taste-testing your completed creations in the restaurant.
Mini royals in Versailles
Kids are treated like royalty at Trianon Palace Versailles, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, where the brand-new “Little Prince and Princess Experiences” package will add a creative and explorative dimension to your stay. Available from just €79 (US$88) per child, the experience includes a magical welcome for the little ones with a Trianon Palace cuddly toy, crayons and other age-appropriate surprises, a half day in the Trianon Mini Club for children, a special garden guidebook for a tour of the Palace of Versailles Gardens, as well as plenty of family activities near the hotel such as a visit to the Chateau of Breteuil, a boat ride on the Grand Canal, and a bicycle ride through the Petit Trianon and Hameau gardens of Marie-Antoinette.
