Situated in south-eastern Zimbabwe amid 130,000 acres of pristine wilderness, Singita Malilangwe House is the ultimate private safari escape and one of seven private lodges that make up Singita Private. The exclusive use, five-bedroom lodge has been given a top to toe make-over by South African design firm Cécile & Boyd and now flaunts stylish safari chic interiors that capture the colours and patterns of the landscape, with earthy tones and natural materials throughout.
The master suite has an enormous bathroom with drop-down glass windows that create a seamless indoor/outdoor space, and each suite has its own terrace. The lodge’s cliffside setting affords spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and the Malilangwe Dam below, and the spacious outdoor living space is home to a swimming pool and covered dining area.
Guests will be looked after by a butler, chef and field guide, who will help create bespoke itineraries and lead safaris in the lodge’s 4x4, during which visitors will likely spot big cats like lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog, as well as elephant and black rhino. Therapists from the nearby Singita Pamushana Lodge can provide in-villa yoga or massage treatments on request, and active visitors can spend their days visiting local communities, exploring ancient rock art sites, or planning fishing trips, wine tasting sessions or sundowner cruises on Malilangwe Dam.
