With its four boutique lodges and camps dotted across the Kenyan landscape, The Safari Collection is one of Africa’s most well-established safari outfits. From Giraffe Manor and its inquisitive long-necked residents in Nairobi to Sasaab and Solio Lodge in the north and the luxurious Sala’s Camp in the southern Masai Mara, the collection offers a taste of Kenya that’s accentuated by the passion and knowledge of co-founder Mikey Carr-Hartley.
New for 2020, the company has introduced Siruai Expedition Camp, an exclusive-use mobile camp experience in a privately-owned 43,000-acre ranch, way off the beaten track in northwest Laikipia, central Kenya. Led by Carr-Hartley himself, the mobile camp experience will allow guests to explore this lesser-known piece of Kenya via guided walks and private game drives undisturbed by other visitors, affording a highly personalised safari experience.
Guests will sleep under the stars in canvas tents pitched amid spectacular landscapes, with nightly sundowners and campfire tales under the stars, bush breakfasts and scenic lunches at panoramic vantage points. Three-night Siruai trips can be tacked onto any stay of three nights or more at Sala’s Camp, Sasaab or Solio Lodge, for £6,535 (approx. US $8,620) per person, based on a minimum of four people travelling together.
