Spanning an area of 100,000 square meters, complete with sunken Boeing 747, the world's largest underwater theme park, Dive Bahrain, has opened in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Diving enthusiasts take note: Not only does Dive Bahrain claim first prize for the sheer size of its underwater realm, the 70 metre-long decommissioned Boeing 747 is the largest aircraft ever to be intentionally submerged.
Also underwater, intrepid divers will find a replica of a traditional Bahraini pearl merchant's house, artificial coral reefs and other sculptures that will be fabricated and submerged to help provide a safe haven for coral reef growth, and to ensure a sustainable habitat for marine life.
In a bid to help boost tourism in Bahrain by capitalizing on the Kingdom's natural assets, the unique experience offered at the park is sure to drive adventure seekers to these shores, while the eco-friendly project will no doubt appeal to sustainability-savvy travelllers too.
Now, if all that doesn't make you want to fork out for a pair of fins, what will?
