Founded by Robin Goodfellow and Amanda Bradley (the former GM and co-founder of Alo), Vela is one of Toronto’s newest and swankiest restaurants-cum-bar, spread over 4,000 square feet at King and Portland in the city’s historical downtown Toronto building.
With interiors shaped by PARTISANS, an award-winning local architecture studio that specialises in the integration of ideas, culture, forms, materials and typologies, it celebrates a reimagination of the supper clubs of the 1930s and ’40s, whilst heralding in a new wave of bygone hospitality, classical theatrics and dinners with a side order of decadence.
Oysters, salads and artichoke cakes are served fresh from the kitchen, alongside pan-seared scallops, pomodoro pasta and 24oz 35-day dry aged Ribeye steak. If that’s not enough to finish you off, you can indulge in Pavlova, brownie stacks and coconut cake.
