They’re calling it the world’s first suspended glass swimming pool, and it’s certainly a design concept that will turn heads. The 90 foot long pool is part of the Nine Elms riverside district, developed right next to Battersea Power Station in the UK’s luxurious capital city.
Suspended between two ten story buildings, the pool will hang from the highest story, bridging the apartment properties together, allowing residences an option to swim to an from. Additional space will be provided for sun bathing and lounging around the hanging watering hole.
A complex of over 2,000 homes called Embassy Gardens will be the venue for this revolutionary design, right alongside London’s’ new American Embassy. These architectural feats pair perfectly together in the city’s chicest new neighbourhood. The private residencies who will have access to the totally transparent pool have plenty of space to do laps: it measures 90 feet long by 19 feet wide with a depth of 10 feet and is fitted by eight inch thick glass.
Swimmers will experience views of the London Eye, among other internationally celebrated monuments from the complex's pool.
Apartments go to market starting September 2015 from £602,000 (USD $944,628).
