Paris, France
The 1930s former home of France Telecom has emerged from a major transformation as Le Cinq Codet. The original exterior reveals a two-storey, paned façade and a transparent curvature that echoes the work of architect Le Corbusier. Guestrooms are designed as artists’ studios, enforced by more than 400 pieces of art throughout the hotel.
Signed works by Jean Philippe Nuel can be seen throughout, united with other flourishes of design by Elisabeth Garouste, Tom Dixon, Patricia Urquiola and Fritz Hansen. But the focal point is the leafy outdoor veranda, which offers a private sanctuary away from the frenetic City of Light.
