1. Hot Hotels
Everyone loves Paris, but why? Let's start with the world-class, five-star properties strewn throughout the "city of love". One of the most anticipated hotel openings this spring? The Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg. In May, this über-chic luxury property opened its doors, and being just down the street from the Bastile Day Parade, it's the perfect spot to soak in the scene.
2. The French know how to dine
No five star hotel is complete without a luxurious fine-dining restaurant. Cue: Yannick Alléno, the chef renowned for his many Michelin-starred restaurants has brought his concept STAY (Simple Table Yannick Alléno) to the Sofitel. Just off of Rue Saint Honoré, this hot spot is where the fashion pack and jet setters will be stopping for a delectable dish throughout the Bastille Day Parade.
3. Haute Couture
How can one city be so renowned for so many arts including design, cuisine, and fashion? And in Paris, it's not just any fashion, it's the sartorial holy grail known as haute couture. With rigorous rules on how the couture is designed, produced, and worn, the recently held Couture Fashion Week is another jewel upon Paris' crown of sophistication.
4. Art Attack
The Peninsula Hotel is an institution of a venue, and this year gave us another example of how Paris integrates art everywhere, museum or not. To celebrate its anniversary, the hotel had international artists curate exihbitions throughout the five star property. In addition to treating guests who visited in-person, The Peninsula shared behind the scenes footage online.
5. French Open
Just on the outer-edge of the sophisticated 16th arrondissement of Paris lays the Roland Garros Grand Slam Tennis Tournament venue aka home of the French Open. Despite the utter uniqueness of the court (that is not clay) it has a rich historical background and a controversial future, unsurprisingly so - the French love a thrilling event.
