Crystal Cruises has called it “the largest brand expansion in luxury travel and hospitality history”. The luxe cruise liner recently revealed a fully outfitted Bombardier Global Express XRS jet as part of its new Crystal Luxury Air Fleet. The aircraft has already entered service and will compliment itineraries for guests traveling on all things Crystal, offering the option to fly privately on their Crystal vacation.
The jet has been refitted with three spacious cabins, which can accommodate business meetings, relaxation and, of course, a comfortable sleep. The forward cabin comrises four executive wide club seats with fold-out tables for dining or meeting and the mid cabin is configured for conferences, with seating for five and workstation and cabinet. The aft cabin has a three-person divan that can be transformed to a large bed and a galley features a chiller, oven, microwave and Nespresso machine.
Chartered flights aboard Crystal’s Global Express jet are now available for booking and will fly guests virtually anywhere in the world, with a max flight range at just under 12 hours per leg. The line will also add a Boeing 777 to its growing fleet in 2017 and 787 Dreamliner in 2018. Crystal charter aircrafts will be operated by Corporate Flight Management DBA Crystal Luxury Air. Technical amenities include a wide range of electronic video supplies, and laptop imagery on all cabin monitors, XM Radio, surround sound, a 31.5” LCD TV, high speed internet and in-flight phone service.
“Crystal Luxury Air will open tremendous possibilities for luxury travelers seeking the next level of ease and exclusivity during their journeys,” says Crystal president and CEO, Edie Rodriguez. “And in the spirit of all things Crystal, and ensuring we offer customization to our guests, Crystal Luxury Air allows our travel agent partners and guests the ability to truly customize their vacation experiences to privately fly to combine our cruise, yacht, river, residence, and air experiences.”
The unveiling comes just after Crystal Cruises upped the ante with the world’s first purpose-built polar class megayacht. Measuring 600 feet (183 metres), the 25,000 gross ton new build with 100 guest suites will be the largest and most spacious megayacht afloat. According to the company, the 200-guest capacity Crystal Endeavor will offer extreme adventures by air, sea and land with a complete range of “toys” not commonly found on today’s megayachts.
They include two helicopters and two landing pads for flightseeing expeditions, as well as two, 7-person submarines, eight electric amphibious zodiacs, jet skis, wave runners, kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling and scuba equipment, recompression chamber, dive support tender and a multi-person ATV. What’s more, the line’s butler service will be available for all guests, as the megayacht will boast a one-to-one crew-to-guest ratio, with 200 crew members serving the 200 guests on board.
