Minor Hotel Group (MHG) has announced a new resort in the Seychelles. The AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa has undergone an $8 million, eight month-long facelift since its previous incarnation as Le Meridien Barbarons Beach Hotel.
The resort will be located on the west coast of Mahe – the main island of a total 115 in the archipelago. Guests of AVANI Seychelles Barbarons will be treated to unobstructed coastal views and direct access to a 600-metre stretch of Barbarons Beach.
The arrival lobby, restaurants and bars have all been overhauled, and all 124 rooms and suites have also been revamped. Each one will now provide either a balcony or terrace with views of the ocean.

The large swimming pool and gym sit below the resort's rooftop terrace, which will feature a sundeck. And to make the most of the Seychelles’ pristine coast, a range of water sports will be on offer, including kayaking and snorkelling.
The resort’s spa will offer one double and three single treatment rooms, as well as a plunge pool and steam room. Upgrades to the spa complex will include a renewed family friendly appeal with play areas in the garden.
“We are excited to add to our AVANI portfolio with a resort in the Seychelles later this year, a new country of operation for Minor Hotel Group,” said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO. MHG has six existing properties in the Maldives and two in Sri Lanka, across three of its brands,
There are currently five AVANI properties in operation. Two are the Sri Lanka resorts, two are located in Vietnam and the AVANI Sepang GoldCoast Resort was recently opened in Malaysia.
