The world’s highest observation deck in the world’s tallest building takes some getting to. The relentless 124 floor journey to the Burj Khalifa’s At The Top means that its two dedicated elevators travel 244.4km each and every day.
Since opening in 2010, the lifts have traversed 384,400 km, which is equal to the distance between the earth and the moon. Between January and March this year alone, the first observation lift did 49,833 runs travelling a distance of 21,329 km while the second did 52,939 runs, negotiating a staggering 22,658 km.
The Burj Khalifa holds seven Guinness World Records titles, including the title for the highest observatory deck in the world for At the Top, Burj Khalifa SKY, which opened last October and is located on Level 148, 555 metres above the ground.
