Cayman Islands Yacht Club is has been given a boost with a $7 million overhaul.
Dart Realty announced the completion of the marina redevelopment on Friday, which commenced in 2011 when the firm purchased the Grand Cayman property.
The revamped marina on the North Sound previously boasted daily traffic of more than 700 boat owners and passengers, but is now prepared for even heavier crowds of tourists, according to a statement issued this week.
The facility is closely linked to the island’s Seven Mile Beach tourism district and is within close distance from Stingray City and North Wall, Grand Cayman’s most prestigious diving area.
Dart held a “rechristening celebration” to mark the relaunch, attended by representative of Queen Elizabeth, Her Excellency Helen Kilpatrick, who ceremoniously smashed a bottle of bubbly over the club, inviting safe journeys for all who pass through.
