Even the biggest chocaholic in the world would be daunted by the Maderno Sweet, which packs a whopping 9.4 million calories. The bathtub, toilet, bidet, basin have been moulded from 100 percent Belgian chocolate and are now available to order.
UK-based chocolatiers Choccywoccydoodah have teamed up with Bathrooms.com to create the delicious design for the bathroom “sweet", inspired by a common spelling error.
"We realised that over a million British people searching for new bathrooms were popping 'bathroom sweets,' rather than 'bathroom suites' into their preferred search engines," said Bathrooms.com chief executive, Ian Monk. "The simple mistake caught our imagination, what if we created a bathroom suite, out of something sweet?"
The Maderno Sweet bathroom set contains a 210,000-calorie chocolate bidet, a 210,000-calorie chocolate sink, an 8 million-calorie chocolate tub and a 980,000-calorie chocolate toilet.
The entire bathroom is now on sale for $133,040, but each item can be bought individually and made fresh to order with a two to three-month wait time. The tub alone costs a hefty GBP 50,000 ($82,865).
"Our Maderno Bathroom Sweet will add real flavour to your bathroom," according to the promotional website bathroomsweets.com. But aside from being a feast for the senses, the units are about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
"It will melt if it comes in contact with direct sunlight, radiator heat or hot liquids," said Monk. "So it's not ideal for running that relaxing bath!"
The bathroom furniture will remain edible for six months but can be kept at room temperature “for years” and the firm can add a layer of varnish to preserve the chocolate escape for even longer.
