While the Scottish city hosts the frenetic energy of the 20th Commonwealth Games, Glasgow Airport has become the home of Emirates airline’s 36th lounge – and its 14th in Europe.
The lounge aesthetic is designed to reflect the style of the Emirates Lounge at Dubai Airport’s Concourse A. The Scottish incarnation boasts a view the airfield, adjacent to gate 30, with cosy seating a dining area, shower facilities, a business centre and prayer room.
Access to the lounge is exclusive to Emirates First Class and Business Class passengers, as well as Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members. Guests have access to an extensive buffet of Scottish and international gourmet dishes, as well as a complimentary full-bar service.
The lounge is furnished with Italian marble floors, gold Rolex wall clocks, plush leather armchairs and mahogany furniture.
The opening comes in the 10th anniversary year of Emirates services to Scotland – and the airline created aviation history earlier this year when it became the first airline to bring the A380 to the country.
“Our new Emirates Lounge at Glasgow, the largest at the airport, represents a significant EUR 2.6 million direct investment,” said Sir Tim Clark, president of Emirates.
“It will be an unrivalled premium airport experience for our passengers travelling to popular destinations, including Bangkok, Perth, Sydney, and Singapore via our hub in Dubai.”
