An epic entertainment facility will be arriving in Doha, drawing in tourists well ahead of the World Cup.
Place Vendôme is due to open in the third quarter of 2017, 11 kilometres outside of Qatar’s capital and will contain two luxury hotels, serviced apartments, around 400 retail outlets, as well as “technologically-advanced installations”.
The 800,000 square-metre, $1.2 billion retail and hospitality development in Doha takes its moniker and inspiration from the iconic home to some of the world’s renowned jewellery and retail fashion stores of Paris.
Qatar’s own fashion capital will reflect the famous high-end shopping street, Rue de la Paix, of which Place Vendôme, Paris is the starting point.
The architecture has been conceptualised keeping the luxury and Parisian style of the street – to offer a great shopping experience, ensuring the well-heeled of the Middle East won’t need to make the trip to the City of Lights in order to shop.
The new retail destination will consist of shopping malls, spread over 800,000 square metres and three hotels – one is a 250-room luxury property and another is a 250-room five-star hotel.
