A Philippe Starck-designed suite has opened today at Le Royal Monceau, Raffles Paris to celebrate the launch of the new Dom Pérignon Rosé 2003 Vintage – but for a limited time only.
"Inspired by Champagne", the Suite Ephémère Dom Pérignon pop-up is a temporary take-over of a Signature Suite and will remain open until October 12, 2014, costing EUR 3,000 (US $3,940) for an overnight stay for two. The price tag also includes a bottle of Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2003 on arrival and a host of additional extras, including the buffet breakfast at the Michelin-starred La Cuisine and unlimited access to Spa My Blend by Clarins.
The hotel is offering the new Rosé Paradox menu at La Cuisine to all guests, as well as a trip to the Champagne region to witness the grape harvest.
The menu was developed during a summit of nine chefs from across the world, including Mexico, Japan, the United States and Italy. Each course is designed to complement the new Rosé Vintage 2003, which is said to contain notes of ripe fruit, fig, violet and vanilla and a silky, spicy material, “which gradually disappears into a salty and mineral finish”.
Le Royal Monceau’s executive chef, Laurent André, was one of said chefs and has reinterpreted the menu over five courses, priced at EUR 130 per person – available exclusively at La Cuisine and in the hotel’s lounge areas.
The menu includes interesting concoctions, such as salmon salad and rabbit with hazelnut butter, Quenelles on a skewer with black truffles and lobster sauce, carbonara with duck breast and cocoa fig sauce and fresh strawberries, figs, guava, blackcurrant with vanilla and violet.
"Art is part of the fabric of our hotel - with our theatre, art gallery, private art collection, Arts Bookstore and our exclusive At Concierge Service. We are delighted to be part of the launch of Dom Pérignon’s Rosé 2003,” said Serge Ethuin, general manager of the hotel.
“The making of great champagne is an art in itself, full of stories and history – just like Raffles.’’
The hotel is offering a separate package for visits to the Champagne grape harvest, starting at EUR 2,200 per night. The itinerary includes an overnight stay in a Junior Suite and a Dom Pérignon Rosé Paradox dinner at La Cuisine, complete with a bottle of Rosé 2003. In addition, breakfast is included, along with unlimited access to the swimming pool and fitness facilities of the Spa My Blend by Clarins.
The trip to Champagne includes a private return transfer, a visit to the cellars and vineyards, a Dom Pérignon vintage tasting and lunch at La Briqueterie restaurant, which boasts a Michelin star.
