Earmarked for a 2021 opening, Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London, will feature a fine dining restaurant, rooftop lounge, stylish bar and a lobby lounge, all designed by British architectural firm Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners. The boutique property will be situated in Hanover Square, an address shared by British Vogue and St. Georges Church.
Since it’s UK debut with Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London in 2000, the company has won legions of fans. Regular visitors were delighted last year when 95 new rooms and suites were unveiled in the property’s Knightsbridge wing; the first part of a major overhaul that also saw the renovation of the lobby, reception lounge and entrance at the hands of designer Joyce Wang. Later this year, the final touches will be unveiled in the Hyde Park wing of the hotel, introducing two new penthouse suites with private terraces overlooking the park, and a new look for The Spa at Mandarin Oriental.
