The 87th Academy Awards night is right around the corner, which means it’s almost been a year since Ellen DeGeneres (almost) broke the internet with her star-studded selfie.
Once again, the event will draw a huge audience across the globe, including Hong Kong, where the Mandarin Oriental will be hosting its Live from the Oscar’s viewing party on Monday, February 23, with four Oscar-themed cocktails.
Perched on the 25th floor of the hotel and overlooking Hong Kong’s skyline, M bar is hosting a glamorous viewing event taking place from 9am – 2pm local time. Guests at the viewing party will be treated to four limited-edition beverages based on some of this year’s nominees for Best Picture; American Sniper, Birdman, Boyhood, and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
The Birdman cocktail (left) is a blend of Hennessy V.S.O.P, Mancino Vermouth, Cointreau, and Angostura bitters, while Boyhood (second from right) is a mix of Earl Grey-infused gin, crème de gingerbread, crème de cacao brown, cinnamon and fresh milk.
American Sniper (second from left) is composed of double-barrelled whisky, Anostura bitters, and orange and lemon elements, served in a golden bullet made from homemade chocolate. And last but not least, The Grand Budapest Hotel (right and below) sees Belvedere vodka mixed with grape, lychee liqueur, blue curacao liqueur, champagne and grapefruit bitters, topped with a chocolate element in the shape of a key.
The experience will be all-the-more memorable due to the red carpet entrance, brunch canapés, popcorn and free-flowing Moet & Chandon Rosé Imperial Champagne.
