Not many months after making its first foray into the Middle East, Marriott’s collection of upscale privately-owned hotels has made its mark on the Greek island of Crete. Domes of Elounda, Crete was signed by Autograph Collection Hotels, which means that Marriott Rewards members can now benefit from a stay in any of the 78 suites or 40 villas.
The hotel is making its mark after emerging from multi-million dollar expansion that includes 28 Domes Luxury Residences. Each lavish accommodation has its own private swimming pool, along side a new family area. The hotel itself is a blend of Mediterranean style with modern sophistication, offering stunning views of the Aegean. The property also boasts a long list of A-list guests due to the levels of privacy on offer.
The impressive villa in the Domes of Elounda collection is the 450square-metre Royal Spa Villa (pictured below), located on the northwest peak of the resort. The vast indoor space is neatly complemented by the private swimming pool and adjacent four-person Jacuzzi, with views looking across to the island of Spinalonga. The Villa features a uniquely themed room arrangement that includes a domed octagon-shaped bathroom, a silver-forged rose pedal fountain, and a private spa with its own sauna, heated lounge chair and special indoor and outdoor spa treatment capabilities.
“Domes of Elounda really is the ideal Greek addition to Autograph Collection Hotels, and contributes to ensuring that the brand’s offering is nothing short of collectively exceptional,” said John Licence, brand leader for Europe.
