As superyachts continue to berth at the recently revamped Porto Montenegro, a new membership programme has been unveiled for crew staying in the marina.
In addition to the current 64-metre pool, restaurants, nightclub, Sports Club and Yacht Club, the Porto Montenegro Crew Club will provide on- and off-season fun and hospitality for those within the industry.
The club will comprise the Crew Bar, which will host themed parties and sports events, contrasted by Verige Beach Club, with its sunbeds and cabanas – just five minutes from the marina. Even further away is the complimentary ski chalet in Kolasin, available throughout winter and just a two and a half hour drive from the coast.
In addition, the PMYC Club House provides more of a lounge-like experience, including WiFi, sofas, big-screen TVs, a book exchange facility and a kitchen. The clubhouse also has its own fleet of Blu26 race yachts and weekly rowing club.
Through a partnership with Discover Montenegro, crew have access to adventure sports such as kitesurfing, wake boarding, scuba diving, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, canyoning, off-road motor biking and white water rafting - as well as a raft of cultural excursions.
Whether or not you’re an experienced chief officer, an engineer or just a holidaymaker, the Visit Montenegro app is a guide to the best of what’s on offer, including recommendations on places to visit, accommodation, restaurants, night life, events, festivals, sports and, of course, shopping.
“Porto Montenegro was recently awarded “Superyacht Marina of the Year 2015” by The Yacht Harbour Association, and the Crew Club is part of our on-going efforts to go above and beyond for our customers. So far, we have had some fantastic feedback,” said Tony Browne, Porto Montenegro Marina Director.
That feedback includes the likes of Jonathan Wilson, chief engineer of M/Y Renewal 2 – a Sunseeker Predator 115 motor-yacht. The crewmember detailed, in a statement, his experiences:
“Since arriving in Tivat, Montenegro has been an adventure. So far I've explored the mountains of Kotor, Old Town Budva, Podgorica, wake-boarding at Tivat Wake Park and had several BBQs and fires on the beach with other crew and locals. It’s great having the teams from Discover Montenegro and the Crew Club to help organise group events and activities – there’s always something happening.”
The marina currently has 420 berths, 130 sold-out luxury apartments, as well as 50 units of ground floor retail made up of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and amenities and a five star Regent Hotel with over 80 luxury suites and apartments.
