US carmaker Renovo Motors has revealed its all electric supercar, which it claims to the nation’s first.
The Renovo Coupe is based on a modified Shelby Daytona chassis, but packs a powerful Li-ion battery to supply 500 horsepower and 1,000 lbs-ft of torque.
The surging electrical power will thrust the Coupe from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, but without the engine roar typically associated with such a high performance vehicle.
The new Renovo is said to emit more of a whistling noise, even as it tops out at around 120 mph. Driving at lower speeds, the stylish auto can reach 100 miles on a single charge.
But with great power comes a great price tag. The company has indicated the Coupe will sell for $500,000 on a “limited” production run.
