The second Sheraton hotel to open in Switzerland’s financial capital sees the brand on track to open its 500th hotel by 2016.
The resort chain first came to the country more than 40 years ago, but the new Sheraton Zurich Hotel presents a vibrant offering in the heart of the city’s business and entertainment district, the hotelier says.
The former industrial hub around Hardturm-Areal is rapidly evolving into an exciting and energetic area, with innovative entrepreneurs, designers and artists setting up business in former factories, and new public spaces, cultural venues and office buildings featuring alternative architecture and design.
The hotel has a spacious lobby lounge and is equipped with a fireplace, blending classic and modern styles. The 197 guest rooms include 32 suites, which are all equipped with a signature all-white 'Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Bed’.
Situated on the 10th floor, the Sheraton Club Lounge serves breakfast, refreshments and light snacks all day, evening drinks and hors d’oeuvres, alongside views over the city from the 10th floor. Guests staying in the Sheraton Club rooms will enjoy complimentary wireless internet access in the room as well as in the Club Lounge.
Sheraton Zurich offers more than 600 square metres of modern meeting and event space, including eight multifunctional meeting and event rooms and a pre-function area. The hotel’s fitness facilities include the brand’s health and fitness programme, ‘Sheraton Fitness by Core Performance’.
The ground floor’s Swiss grill restaurant, Route Twenty-Six, offers a unique dining concept that showcases the best from the 26 Swiss cantons, freshly prepared from the open show kitchen.
The Starwood Hotels & Resorts group currently operates six hotels in Switzerland under four of its distinct lifestyle brands. This includes the recently opened W Verbier – the first ski retreat from global design powerhouse, W Hotels, as well as Sheraton Zurich, Sheraton Neues Schloss and Four Points by Sheraton Sihlcity in Zurich. Starwood also operates Sheraton Davos Hotel in Waldhuus and Hotel President Wilson, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Geneva.
