When it comes to airline style wars, it’s usually down to which cabin crew uniform is most on point, but Qantas is offering savvy travellers with a chic new accessory that could rival the Virgin Atlantic onesie.
The airline’s trend consultant, model and Sydney native Jessica Hart, was asked to nominated a destination that “feels like home” and would be the inspiration of a limited edition cashmere blend scarf.
The social media sensation opted for Melbourne, so the scarf has been designed by Bird and Knoll to reflect the streetscape art of Hosier Lane and its beloved dining destination, MoVida, as well as Hart’s preferred hues.
Qantas Group Executive Brand, Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Olivia Wirth, said the airline was pleased to show its support for the nation’s fashion industry and promote the unique beauty of Australia.
“We take great pride in supporting Australian fashion designers, destinations and talent and we’re really excited about our collaboration with Bird & Knoll to bring extra style to the Qantas travel experience,” said Qantas marketing exec Olivia Wirth.
Designers Natalie Knoll and Macayla Chapman claim the scarf is a perfect accessory for any journey, stating that it “translates effortlessly from poolside sarong to an elegant inflight cover-up so it’s ideal for popping in your hand luggage”.
The item will retail for AUS $298 and is available to purchase on qantasshop.com.au, InSky Shopping and through Bird and Knoll stockists.
