We’re all familiar with the idea of “feng shui”, which is essentially the art of using space effectively. That may seem a rather tricky concept aboard a Boeing – except when it’s a private Boeing Business Jet 2 (BBJ2). However, a Honk Kong-based engineering firm that specialises in cabin completion has unveiled Xiao Yao, which is based around an organic, free-flowing layout and a “sinuous” meandering walkway.
There’s also inspiration from Zhuangzi, a foundational text of Taoism, according to the company, Haeco. The idea is that humans must free their imagination and go beyond what is familiar, and we think it’s fair to say this is a little different. The 1,025 square-feet of cabin space that a BBJ2 boasts has been transformed with soft tones and bespoke furniture. There are practical meeting and dining spaces, as well as a pretty cosy-looking en-suite bedroom.
If the soft-hued Business Jet isn’t to your taste, then how about this other concept from Haeco? The Airbus interior design was developed in tandem with an unnamed fashion label. There are similar Asian-inspired elements, such as bamboo and dragon motifs, but colours are a little more vibrant. There’s a spacious bedroom for whoever rules the over the 18 reclining seats, but everyone will surely benefit from the on-board sushi bar.
