The countdown is on to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, with just 100 days until the iconic sporting event kicks off in Japan - one year later than planned, but all the more anticipated. Helping keep an eye on the time, naturally, is Official Timekeeper OMEGA, who has just unboxed a special timepiece in tribute to the sporting occasion.
The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300m Tokyo 2020 hits all the right style points, with a unique colour scheme inspired by the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem, along with the very best in watchmaking technology from the Swiss luxury brand.
So, what’s this Seamaster all about? The 42mm case is crafted in stainless steel, and mounted with a blue ceramic bezel ring, which is filled with a white enamel diving scale. To ensure seamless integration from dial to bracelet, polished-brushed stainless steel winds around the wrist, too.
To complement the blue, there’s a polished white ceramic dial with extra depth thanks to the laser-engraved waves. The dial also features a date window at 6 o’clock, blued hands and indexes and, of course, the famous Seamaster name in red.
As for the caseback, it comes in sapphire crystal and marks this special event with its Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem, while on the inside keen eyes will find the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8800 - which has been officially certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS); a standard of performance that any gold medallist would be proud of.
It’s the 29th time OMEGA has fulfilled its role as Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games, having partnered since 1932, bringing almost 90 years of experience to the occasion and now capturing every second of action once again, with OMEGA’s unrivaled innovation and precision.
