Swiss watchmaking dynamo, Arnold & Son, has partnered with British Olympic athlete Sir Mo Farah to become the brand’s special ambassador.
As the most successful athlete in the history of the modern Olympic Games, and the most decorated in the history of British athletics (he’s won four Olympic golds thus far and is in training for the Tokyo Olympics next summer), long-distance runner Mo Farah is no stranger to keeping time - well. And it’s his love of time-keeping and fine watchmaking that sparked the relationship with Arnold & Son, a Swiss company named after an 18th-century British watchmaker, with Mo choosing to Arnold & Son’s DTE and Constant Force Tourbillon timepieces.
Featuring two independent tourbillons for showing two different time zones, the DTE reflects Mo Farah’s dual nationality and culture, while the precision of the tourbillons pays homage to his performance, and the technicality of the movement mirrors Mo’s perfected stride. On the other hand (not literally), The Constant Force Tourbillon is a reminder that whether in watchmaking mechanics or a high-level sporting career, consistency, regularity and application are crucial to success.
“Preparation, precision and performance pave my way to progress and success. Arnold & Son reflect this vision. It is simply a joy to wear their timepieces,” said Sir Mo. “I like the shared enriching mix of various origins and nationalities. I am British with Somali origins as Arnold & Son is Swiss matchmaking with English roots.”
United by their British heritage as well as their passion for precision, it seems the partnership between these two powerhouses is one for the history books already.
