Hilton has promised five new Curio properties are in the works. That means a total of 40 properties are now open or in the pipeline within just 12 months of the brand being launched.
Curio – A Collection by Hilton (to give it its full name) arrived on the scene a year ago, offering a category of hotels that are “independent, remarkable hotels whose only unifying characteristic is their glorious individuality”.
There are currently 11 properties within the US, Jamaica and Germany – the Reichshof Hamburg opened just recently – and another Turkish hotel, Rumeli Han Istanbul, is slated for 2017.
The pipeline also includes Hotel Astor Paris; Mall of Qatar; Jewel Beach Resort & Spa Paradise Cove Runaway Bay; Reichshof Hamburg; Jewel Beach Resort & Spa Dunn's River Ocho Rios; Hotel Alex Johnson Rapid City; LondonHouse Chicago; Rumeli Han Istanbul; The Porter Portland and The Statler Dallas.
Another five additions were also announced just last week:
The 50-guestroom Anselmo Buenos Aires, Curio Collection by Hilton is a great example of what the brand stands for. The property was converted from a portion of a historic mansion in one of the Argentine capital’s historic neighbourhoods. The hotel has a focus on exemplary design, combined with an upscale restaurant and bar concepts.
"When we launched Curio - A Collection by Hilton one year ago today, we knew we had something special, a collection defined by hotels that cater to travellers with a passion for discovery and a taste for the authentic flavour of communities," said Curio boss Dianna Vaughan.
"From Texas to Turkey and Philadelphia to Paris, Curio has today grown into an eclectic group of hotels defined by its deep local experiences on a global scale," she added.
