South Florida grande dame The Boca Raton is set to emerge from a US $200 million transformation, marking the start of a new chapter in its almost 100-year history. Originally built in 1926 following designs by city planner and architect Addison Mizner, the 100-room inn on the shore of Lake Boca Raton has expanded over the last century and now comprises five distinct hotels covering 200 acres of prime lakeside and oceanfront real estate.
The original property has been transformed into The Boca Raton Cloister, an elegant Mediterranean Revival style property with 294 rooms and suites and 12 restaurants and bars, a stone’s throw from the resort’s 18-hole golf course.
The adults-only Yacht Club is an all-suite escape that’s home to the Flybridge fine dining restaurant and wows guests with personal butlers and Maserati house cars. Families staying at The Boca Raton Bungalows will find plenty of space and privacy to reconnect; the 58 two-bedroom suites are located in four acres of green lawns, with a separate swimming pool and a raft of perks including daily breakfast and afternoon bites.
Later this year, The Boca Raton’s iconic Coastal Boca Pink Tower, which stands 27 storeys high adjacent to the new Harbourside Pool Club, will emerge from a major $45 million courtesy of Rockwell Group. The 224 spacious rooms and suites feature artful touches including built-in window seating, neutral linen fabrics and wooden accents, and are configured so that larger families and groups can book adjoining suites or an entire floor of the hotel. The Boca Raton Beach Club will reopen in early 2023 with 212 guestrooms and suites overlooking three swimming pools surrounded by 46 cabanas.
As well as the five hotels, the resort is home to a private beach, Racquet Club, Pool Club and Spa Palmera, a sprawling spa and wellness centre with 44 treatment rooms built around a lush courtyard with tranquil gardens. Across the resort, new dining concepts by Major Food Group include signature steakhouse restaurant The Flamingo Grill, New York-style brunch spot Sadelle’s, continental cuisine at MB Supper Club and Italian dining at Principessa Ristorante, as well as a soon to be announced Japanese concept.
