While the focus of most trips is centred around the destination, increasingly an emphasis is being placed on what you eat when you get there. A steep rise in ‘culinary tourism’ in 2022 has seen travellers exploring countries and places led by their palates. Kill two birds with one stone at Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, where good food comes hand-in-hand with one of Dubai’s coolest urban experiences.
The hotel has five different dining destinations, taking guests on a culinary trip around the world plate by plate, from tapas and sharing platters from Spain’s best bodegas at Salero Tapas & Bodega, to contemporary modern Levantine dishes at Olea, to afternoon tea and European cuisine at Aspen by Kempinski in the hotel’s lobby. From October 3-8, Salero is hosting an exclusive dinner by Michelin-star chef, Diego Gallegos.
Better known as ‘The Chef of Caviar’, and visiting all the way from Malaga, the evening promises to be an unbeatable blend of finessed food and flair. At Olea, you can feast on an Express Lunch for those on-the-go with Arabian mezze platters, shish tawook, lamb kebabs, hummus Beiruti and fattoush salad, or, for the more carnivorous amongst you, a Kilo-Meater lunch or dinner featuring kebabs, skewers and mixed grills, rounded off with soft kunafa and baklawa ice cream.
When you’ve had your fill, bed down in a Duplex Aspen Ski Chalet to enjoy a cosy, wintery escape, or the Presidential Suite or Executive Tower Suite for the ultimate luxury and wake up to breakfast with a view on your terrace. Food for thought, indeed!
