When it comes to super elite birthday parties, it’s always a case of go hard or go home. In this case, it’s go to Mexico’s Grand Velas Resorts in Riviera Maya and Riviera Nayarit. The properties are offering a $2 million birthday package for your beloved son or daughter to celebrate their coming of age in utmost style.
The birthday blowout includes private jet transfers from anywhere in North America, a custom designer dress, diamond rental, skydiving and an epic beach party with fireworks et al. From stepping off the private jet, the lucky teen will be presented with edible gold popsicles and welcome bags containing Apple's coveted iWatch.
The birthday boy or girl will get VIP treatment with three nights in the two-bedroom Presidential Suite with a daily breakfast for up to ten friends. But the beach bash is even more accommodating with space for 300 guests. They’ll all surely admire the professional sand sculpture that’s been carved as a birthday greeting.
Top acts at the party could include anyone from Maroon 5 to Pitbull, but you’ll surely be kitted for the occasion with a custom-made designer dress by Pineda Covalin (the “Hermes of Mexico”) and a bevy of diamonds from the resorts’ "Rent Your Rock" programme. The most dazzling jewel is the yellow canary diamond, radiant cut, with a centre stone of nearly four carats, surrounded by 1.25 carats all in white gold.
And in order to feel fresh the next day, a “Gold Treatment” is included at the on-site spa, but that’s probably after the nearby skydive or flyboard experiences on offer. All the while, catering is under the care of celeb chef el Alonso of Grand Velas's signature Cocina de Autor restaurant. The culinary master will prepare welcome dinner accompanied by renowned mixologist Moisés Sierra Sáenz mixing up high-quality "mocktails" for the teens.
Regardless of all the glitzy gimmicks and sumptuous extras, the resort itself is super exclusive with all-inclusive suites set within 205 acres of pristine jungle and mangroves, next to the white sands of the Riviera Maya.
