The trio of luxury urban escapes formerly known as The Set Hotels - Café Royal in London, Lutetia in Paris and the Conservatorium in Amsterdam – has rebranded as The Set Collection and welcomed Mamilla Hotel in Jerusalem as the fourth member of the group.
Under the new brand, The Set Collection will begin to act as a luxury brand representation company for other independent hotels, offering new members a range of services to support operational and management teams, from full sales support and access to The Set Collection distribution channels, to assistance with digital marketing and revenue management.
The model is similar to The Leading Hotels of the World or Relais & Chateaux, with a number of notable differences. Firstly, the size: The Set Collection will be limited to 40 or 50 hotels, with just one property in each city. Secondly, flexibility: member hotels will be able to choose their level of involvement depending on the needs of each property and their existing in-house set-up, opting into additional services according to individual business needs. The group will promote collaboration between like-minded members and offer a performance-related fee model. The Set Collection is expected to reveal a partnership with a leading global loyalty programme in the not-too-distant future, so guests can earn and redeem rewards at all members of the collection.
Conveniently located for access to Jerusalem’s galleries and theatres on one side and the Old City walls and Jaffa Gate on the other, Mamilla Hotel sits at the crossroads between old and new. Interior architect Piero Lissoni – who also imagined the interiors at Conservatorium hotel in Amsterdam – has played on these contrasts in the 194 guestrooms and suites, which showcase juxtaposed materials like silk and stone or raw concrete and brushed oak. On the top floor, the Rooftop restaurant and lounge offers sweeping views across the city and the perfect spot from which to watch the sun drop over the horizon.
