After a lightning-fast expansion across the Middle East and Asia in the last few years, St. Regis has turned its attention to Europe, revealing plans for a new outpost in London. Situated on the corner of Bond Street and Conduit Street, The St. Regis London will open in 2023 after a US $122 million refurbishment and extension of the existing Westbury Mayfair Hotel, which will see the addition of an eighth floor and new public areas overseen by Peter Newman-Earp of London-based Morrison Design.
Richmond International has been appointed to reimagine the interiors of the hotel, which will include 196 rooms and suites, as well as a signature restaurant, a speakeasy style jazz bar, a fitness centre and spa.
The Westbury’s popular Polo Bar - originally created for the Phipps family, who founded the Westbury hotels in New York and London - will retain its place at the heart of the hotel, offering St. Regis signature touches, including a local twist on the classic Bloody Mary. The new signing marks the 16th St. Regis property in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
