Nice guys finish last (or so they say) but when it comes to Bond, the lines are blurred. It was announced in December that the Aston Martin DB10 was being exclusively built for 007, but we now learn that the bad guys won’t be far behind at the wheel of the “cancelled” Jaguar C-X75 concept.
The hypercar will make its movie debut in “Spectre”, which boasts the tagline “it’s good to be bad", and will be driven by the main villain in a car chase through the streets of Rome - all-the-while tussling with the DB10.
The blockbuster will be the 24th in a series that never fails to disappoint when it comes to four-wheel talent, although this announcement turned out to be a pleasant surprise for car enthusiasts.
The C-X75 was due to retail at around GBP 1 million (US $1.53 million) but was pulled from production, allegedly due to financial concerns.
The plug-in hybrid can leap from 0-100mph in less than six seconds, thanks to a seven-speed automated manual transmission that enables gearshifts in under 200 milliseconds. Jaguar lists the car as having a theoretical maximum velocity of 220mph.
The film will also feature a heavily modified Land Rover Defender Big Foot as well as the Range Rover Sport SVR – the most powerful Land Rover ever.
