This month will see the first-ever BG Energy Challenge – Oman 2007, a corporate event that will see teams completing a series of physical and mental challenges in the hot desert and wet wadis of Musannah.
The two-day team event, held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mohammad bin Hamed Al-Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas, is open to companies and organisations associated with the energy industry and involves teams of four to six, enduring a series of tasks that includes trekking, sandboarding, dune bowling, clue solving and treasure hunting.
While the teams, from Dubai, England, Egypt and Oman, will find the event itself challenging, the real challenge for them has been to fundraise a minimum of RO.2000 and hopefully more. Every baiza, dirham or penny raised will be donated to the National Association for Cancer Awareness helping them to buy and operate the Sultanate’s first mobile cancer awareness unit. |
 |
Sponsored by BG Oman, a subsidiary of UK-based BG Group plc, BG Energy Challenge – Oman 2007 takes place on 21-23 March 2007 and is being organised and run by Muscat Diving & Adventure Centre, Oman’s leading adventure tourism specialists. Registrations for the Challenge has now closed at 28 teams but donations can be made via challenge.oman@bg-group.com or to find out more about future events and sponsorship opportunities contact sasha@holiday-in-oman.com |
