Lions, tigers and kangaroos—oh my! Monarto Safari Resort is scheduled to open its doors to the public on 28 May. Managed by Adelaide-based experiential tourism group Journey Beyond, the multimillion-dollar development is poised to become a premier destination in South Australia. Located within an hour’s drive of Adelaide, the resort offers expansive views across the Mallee Plains in the Murray River, Lakes and Coorong tourism region.

Guests will have unique access to the new Wild Africa precinct of Monarto Safari Park, allowing them to observe native and exotic animals, including southern white rhinoceros, cheetah, hippopotamus, zebra and giraffes, just metres from their accommodation.
The luxury resort features 78 guest rooms and 20 luxury tents in the safari lodge, complemented by a sumptuous spa, two swimming pools and dedicated spaces for conferences and functions.
Designed to cater to families, couples and adventure seekers, the resort provides immersive wildlife encounters. Visitors can join exclusive tours of the Wild Africa precinct, such as premium safari tours and bespoke experiences aboard custom-made safari vehicles. Evening activities include sundowner drinks and canapés overlooking free-roaming animals on the open plains. A portion of each room rate will be donated to Monarto Safari Park’s conservation programmes.
