Hungry to see the world but fancy a taste of something a little different? Pelorus - the UK-based bespoke experiential travel and yachting company - has partnered with SKANDL and 62Nord to launch a brand new culinary journey through Norway, ‘A Taste for Adventure’.
Food lovers will have the opportunity to explore the very best of Norway’s landscape through a gastronomic lens, with an exclusive roster of adventure experiences by Pelorus and 62Nord, along with hands-on masterclasses led by chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants, Nordic fishing, foraging and food prep techniques, such as open-flame cooking, during their travels. You’ll also be able to rest your head in the beautiful surroundings of 62Nord properties, at either Union Øye or Storfjord Hotel.
Taking place over a minimum of three days (though five is optimal), A Taste of Adventure is a highly immersive dining experience letting you delve into the culture and nature of Norway’s remote wilderness, with Pelorus and 62Nord blending a series of soft adventure experiences with authenticity and luxury, and SKANDL bringing the high-end cuisine to help create special memories as you come together with your fellow travellers to break bread.
While the journey will be built from scratch by Pelorus, over the five days guests will enjoy things like a Chef’s Table with a feast of seasonal Nordic foods, a morning of fishing followed by a helicopter ride to Storfjord to see the fjords, and an afternoon learning how to cure salmon. Other activities include a ride on a Zodiac cruise around Geiranger Fjord, a UNESCO Heritage site known for its cascading waterfalls; a luxury BBQ with Arctic king crab and canapés with Carelian Nordic Caviar; a hike or e-bike tour of the stunning Norangdal Valley, where you’ll forage for wild mushrooms and herbs, learn about different local cooking methods, then feast on a picnic lunch; and a fireside breakfast, signature 62Nord spa treatment or a soak in a traditional wood-fired ‘stamp’ hot tub.
Bookable between March and November, this trip promises to be a feast for all the senses.
