There’s no longer any need to wish upon the star for Disney fans in the Middle East after it was announced that Disneyland is coming to Abu Dhabi.
Set to woo young and old from 2032, the happiest place on earth will be located in the city’s lifestyle destination of Yas Island, where it will join other famous theme parks like Ferrari World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and Warner Bros. World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

The new resort will be fully developed and built by Miral and will be the most advanced and interactive Disney destination ever built, with distinct Emirati themes woven throughout the experience – think stories, characters and design elements that showcase the UAE’s culture and traditions.
Speaking on the announcement, CEO The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger said; “This is an extraordinary opportunity for Disney to bring its renowned storytelling to yet another region of the world with a completely new theme park experience that will be a cultural, entertainment and technological marvel.

"Abu Dhabi’s position as an international crossroads, its embrace of global culture, and its ambitious vision for the future make it a perfect location for Disney to reach millions of new families and captivate guests for generations to come.”
The project will become Disney’s seventh theme park destination worldwide, following its parks in California, Florida, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
