What is your most treasured destination to visit?
I am drawn to Paris like a moth to
a flame. Its eclectic mix of contemporary style and historic beauty has always inspired me and my designs. I have
a beautiful showroom opposite the British Embassy on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, with a spare room. It’s
my home away from home. Whilst I love the grandiosity of the neighbourhood,
I often walk to the Marais for breakfast at Wild & The Moon on Rue Charlot,
or dinner at Carboni’s.

Aside from Paris, which other destination inspires your work?
India is a great source of inspiration.
I have been working with Indian artisans for many years. Their craftsmanship and dedication to craft
is such an important part of a Jenny Packham dress. In Delhi, I stay at The Imperial New Delhi, it’s a historic gem nestled into an oasis among the bustling streets. The hotel was the first in New Delhi, built in 1936, it’s an
Art Deco delight.

Which bucket list destinations are
you yet to check-off?
In a few weeks, I am going to Santa Fe
to indulge in Georgia O’Keeffe’s work.
I can’t wait to visit her former home (open for tours) and enjoy the arts and crafts of the First Nation people. I’ll
then head on to Monument Valley and Sedona. So, a few destinations will finally be ticked-off!
What does a perfect morning in London look like, according to
Jenny Packham?
I’d start early with a walk with my spaniel, Byron, on Hampstead Heath. Then I’d meet a friend at Chiltern Street Firehouse for breakfast followed by
a gallery visit – the Royal Academy of Arts or the Tate Britain.
What’s your favourite hotel?
That’s such a tough question, but it would have to be Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. It’s a place for mischief-makers and hell raisers, and yet it’s so luxuriously cool and cosy. The original features have been lovingly left, which only adds to its allure as a castle hideaway frozen in time. This summer,
I also stayed at a fabulous hotel in Menorca called Vestige Son Vell – part
of the Vestige Collection group who renovate and redesign old properties into beautiful contemporary hotels.
Its lush gardens juxtaposed against
the aridness of the Spanish island are simply breathtaking.

Your favourite spa in the world?
That would have to be the spa at
Six Senses Douro Valley, in Portugal.

And your favourite restaurant?
When I’m in New York I always
visit Café Gitane on Mott Street. It’s
a Moroccan-American fusion café and
I always order the Moroccan couscous, with a side of arugula and beets. It is casual, cool and local.
Which destination has the
best shopping?
Vintage shopping in LA is a treat.
I love the shops with hand-me-down
red carpet gowns that have had their moment decades before. I hunt for beautiful sixties beading in sugary shades, and metallic Mugler body-hugging styles that ignite my imagination. In Paris, I shop at
Dries Van Noten.

What do you never travel without
on a long-haul flight?
Anatom face oils and Ross J. Barr
calm patches.
Finally, what’s your mantra when it comes to travelling and exploring?
Enjoy the journey – it’s a privilege.
