There is literally no stopping this man! Chef Izu Ani is a culinary force to be reckoned with, the mastermind behind popular Dubai restaurants like Shanghai Me, Eunoia by Carine and Gaia. Kai Enzo, his new rooftop restaurant at Hyatt Centric Jumeirah in La Mer, promises to be another hit. The menu is a mash up of Japanese and Mediterranean food, merging Far-Eastern flavours with Western influences and soaking up both region’s shared culinary philosophies of quality, freshness and simplicity.
The word ‘Kai’ in Japanese means ocean or shell, which represents the calm setting of the restaurant by the sea, with interiors designed to be purposefully uncluttered allowing guests to enjoy a sense of calm without distractions. ‘Enzo’ means king or owner, and represents the ingredients ruling the experience. Kai Enzo is also the name of Izu’s son, making it a very personal creation.
