Abrand that takes everything you know about Greek food and turns it on its head, the idea, concept and story behind MAZI were inspired by both the childhood memories of founders Christina and Adrien, along with a shared vision to revolutionise perceptions of Greek cuisine.

First opening in London’s Notting Hill in 2012, MAZI brought its sun-kissed Grecian gourmet to Abu Dhabi finding a home at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort. Translating as ‘together’ in Greek, MAZI’s mission is to revive the country’s sharing culinary tradition, and to bring people together around the table to let them try out the rich and wildly varied flavours of Greek food and, most importantly, to have fun.

The dishes are kept as close to the original as possible, whilst allowing the chefs freedom to experiment and play with interpretation, textures and ingredients. The result? A cornucopia of flavours that represent the whole country, taking your palate on an adventure from the Aegean islands to Northern Greece and the Peloponnese.

Your voyage of culinary discovery falls under the watchful eye of Head Chef Savvas Smalis, who ensures every dish at MAZI Abu Dhabi is fuelled with seasonal ingredients, whilst engaging tastebuds with the robust flavours and colours of the Mediterranean. The cheese in the Greek salad with feta tempura is sourced directly from Greece, as is the Orzo pasta in the lobster orzo pasta giouvetsi.

After trying those two signature dishes, order another... The roasted red Romano pepper. First, the pepper, is grilled, then the skin and seeds removed, before being stuffed with feta cream and thyme olive oil. There’s no spice, just deliciously creamy with a hint of sweet. Other must-tries are the shredded lamb shoulder tacos, Okra fries with paprika dip, artichoke risotto, whole-grilled calamari with yuzu and jalapeño broth, and jumbo prawns with saganaki sauce. Don’t be fooled into thinking you won’t want/need dessert... Trust us when we say save room for the caramelised pineapple with coconut ice cream and honeycomb, or the Loukoumades with lavender honey, crushed walnuts and chocolate sorbet.

Bringing Greece’s laid-back vibes to the shores of Saadiyat, MAZI Abu Dhabi has also mastered the art of relaxed fine dining, with a cosy-cum-rustic vibe and the most beautiful olive tree-wrapped terrace – the perfect space to truly celebrate Grecian cuisine ‘together’.
