The Ritz-Carlton has announced the date for the opening of its new hotel in Hong Kong, which is to be the tallest hotel in the world.
The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong will occupy the 102nd to the 118th (top) floor of the International Commerce Centre when it opens in March 2011.
The ICC stands tall at 484 metres high. It will be the highest building in Hong Kong and the forth tallest in the world behind Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the Taipei 101 tower in Taiwan and China’s Shanghai World Finance Centre.
The hotel will offer 312 rooms, six dining venues, a lobby lounge and an alfresco rooftop bar with some of the best views of the city.
The indoor pool, located on the 118th floor, will also offer amazing views of the city and is being promoted as the ‘highest swimming pool’ in the world.
In a recent press statement, Simon Cooper, president and COO of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company stated, "Hong Kong is one of the world's great cities and we are delighted to be returning with such an iconic and dynamic hotel.
"Occupying the top 16 floors of the ICC tower in Hong Kong is a truly unique location for a hotel, offering panoramic views across Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island.''
