Four Seasons' latest foray into China is the newly opened Four Seasons Hotel Dalian.
Situated in the Donggang harbour district of the city in China’s northeast, the hotel is home to 254 rooms and suites, spanning more than 40 floors.
Designed by NBBJ Shanghai, interiors are imagined by acclaimed international firm Hirsch Bedner Associates of Singapore who draws inspiration from the city’s humble beginnings as a fishing village to an important trading port by rail and sea between northern China, Russia, and Japan. The lobby’s marble flooring and guest room carpets showcase track-like graphics with large-scale artworks including a series of showstopping lighting elements, reflecting Dalian’s diverse landscape.
The design team also plays on the city’s four distinct seasons in the hotel’s public spaces with winter represented in the 41st floor lobby, spring colours taking centre stage in event spaces and bright, sunny ambiances coming to the fore in the spa and wellness centre as well as the indoor swimming pool on the 38th floor. And for lovers of autumn, their favourite time of year takes precedent in guest rooms with warm and earthy tones.
When it’s time for food, guests will find a combination of local, Japanese and world cuisines to please their palates. Headed by Executive Chef, Yeoh Chin Foong, sample classic Cantonese dishes in the fiery red surroundings of Saai Yue Heen or cross the culinary East China Sea for authentic Japanese fare among traditional florals and fabric wall art of Yotsuba. Bustling market vibes, open-faced kitchens and western and internationals specialties can be enjoyed at HUIHUI and for those with a sweet tooth, stop by charming coffee and dessert venue, Fresca.
Slowing down can be done at one of the six treatment rooms at the hotel spa and infinity pool that spills down to the city below or work up a sweat at the state-of-the-art fitness centre that offers cityscape views.
And for those who like to explore, choose one of the specially curated tour itineraries by the Four Seasons Hotel Dalian’s concierge team that will see you check-out Changxing Seafood Market, take a picture at Zhonghan Square or simply relax at Sea Charm Park with a picnic crafted by Four Seasons’ chefs.
The Four Seasons Hotel Dalian’s opening follows the recent unveiling of Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou that threw open its doors to the world in December 2023. The brand has also announced new projects in Hangzhou, Xi’an, and Shanghai.
