Renaissance Hotels has arrived in Oahu with the opening of Renaissance Honolulu Hotel & Spa.
Standing 39 storeys tall, the 229-key resort situated in the heart of Honolulu, will showcase panoramic ocean and mountain views with ‘revitalised wellness’ being at the heart of its core offering to guests.
Home to 187 rooms and suites as well as 112 residences, design is inspired by the cultural heritage and natural beauty of the island. Expect spacious rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows alongside hand-crafted wooden furnishings and local artworks adorning walls. In the bathrooms, guests will find deep soaking tubs, Toto washlets and Aveda bath amenities with premier residences coming with kitchens featuring Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances.
When it’s time for food, there are four options from which to choose. Those who delight in seafood should head for the 6,700 square-foot restaurant MARA, that serves up Mediterranean cuisine prepared with local ingredients. Think family-style tapas, grilled meats, and fresh seafood along with a full-service bar and lounge. For something more casual, set the course for the 15th floor and The Coral Club Lounge where guests can kick start their day with breakfast and ocean views. However, when the sun begins to set, enjoy evening hors d'oeuvres and cocktails.
Poolside living underneath swaying palm trees is available at SWAY and for those in need of a caffeine-boost, they can find what they need at LAMILL in the Renaissance Honolulu’s grand lobby.
Sky Deck on the eighth floor is the sanctuary for those searching for wellness and relaxation. The centre comes replete with meditation gardens, fully equipped fitness centre, glass-enclosed yoga studio as well as a 25-metre lap pool, two hot tubs and a heated saltwater swimming pool surrounded by large, shaded cabanas and BBQ pavilions.
In need of some extra TLC? Place yourself at The Uhiwai Spa that offers massages and facials alongside traditional Japanese ofuro indoor and outdoor soaking tubs, Himalayan salt saunas, steam rooms and cold plunge baths.
There is also plenty to do in the surrounding areas with the world’s largest open-air retail centre Ala Moana Center, as well as the lively neighbourhood of Kaka’ako, full of arts and culture and a microbrewery, within a short walking distance. And if you’re looking to go further afield, the hotel’s on property navigator can assist in arranging tours with local experts.
“In a city buzzing with new and exciting retail, restaurants and more, this is a property and a brand that will not only match the energy and vibrancy of the destination but also support its continued growth by shining a light on the businesses and people that make this neighborhood – and the island overall – such a special place,” says Jennifer Connell, vice president and global brand lead, Renaissance Hotels.
