Finolhu’s buzzy beach is upping the ante later this month, with the launch of 1 OAK Island at the resort’s first-ever “Summer Lovin’ Finolhu Beach Weekend”. A favourite party hotspot for the It crowd in North America, the nightclub (which stands for 1 Of A Kind) will transform Finolhu into 1 OAK Island from July 28-30.
The island party kicks off with #BAREFOOTANDBEAUTIFUL, a day of beach parties, treasure hunts and a Bruce Lee-inspired dinner. When night falls, an Eighties-inspired glam party takes over with retro hits under the stars.
Fish & Crab Shack is where the action will be found on the 29th, with games of beach volleyball, water sports, and curated cocktails and nibbles throughout the day. Food trucks take over Baa Baa Beach Dinner in the evening, but the main event is a live performance from Grammy-award-winning artist Robin Thicke.
As the festival wraps up on the 30th, take the opportunity to chill out island style, indulging in poolside spa treatments, tarot-card readings and retro tunes from the Sixties and Seventies.
With pop-ups in previous destinations such as Ibiza, Cannes, Abu Dhabi and Monaco – attracting guests you may have heard of such as Madonna, Beyoncé and Kanye West – its Maldivian takeover is set to attract a whole new breed of bon-vivants looking for the island destination’s more lively side.
