Event
Kitzbühel Snow Polo has emerged to become one of the top polo events in the globe. We grew from an event with four teams and 500 spectators back in 2003, to having eight teams and over 15,000 spectators in 2014. Kitzbühel offers a unique setting for such an esteemed annual sporting and social event.
Ambience
We are expecting over 15,000 visitors over the weekend. VIP guests will enjoy three days of world-class polo, accompanied by gourmet catering and exclusive social events. We will kick off the festivities with the team presentation in front of the Hotel zur Tenne (Vorderstadt 8-10; +43 53 56.6 44 44-0; www.hotelzurtenne.com), while our main VIP event on Saturday night (see below) draws the crowds.
After Dark
Friday and Saturday are our biggest nights. Friday we will hit it off with the Captains Dinner at the Kitzbühel Country Club (Kitzbühelstrasse 53; +43 (5356) 64664; www.kitzbuehel.cc) followed by the legendary ‘Players Late Night’ at Club Take Five (Hinterstadt 22; +43 5356 713000; club-takefive.com). Saturday is our largest event with nearly 1,000 guests enjoying a gala dinner in our VIP tent and entertainment from international music acts including the world-renowned DJ Erok.
Stay
There are so many hotels I could recommend to stay in, but I will say Hotek zur Tenne, Schloss Lebenberg (Lebenbergstrasse 17; +43 53 56 69 01; www.austria-trend.at) and Schwarzer Adler (Florianigasse 15; +43 53 56 69 11; www.adlerkitz.at), to name a few. All our players will be staying in these hotels as well, giving you a good chance to meet them off the field.
Dine
Kitzbühel is world famous for the great hospitality it offers. I personally recommend the restaurant at the Hotel zur Tenne in the heart of town, followed by a drink at Stamperl (Franz Reisch Strasse 7; +43 6603 0000 33; www.stamperl-kitz.at). And for those who still want to keep going, Club Take Five is the place to be.
Must-do
When visiting Kitzbühel for the polo, one must spare some time to indulge in the other winter sport the region is famed for: skiing. Kitzbühel boasts 170 kilometres of phenomenal slopes.
