George Bernard Shaw once said that youth is wasted on the young – but what about money? The internet and global tech boom has led to an influx of “New Money” into global rich lists, formerly occupied by ageing kingpins and playboy heirs.
This is evidenced by a new infographic from Wealth-X, depicting the world’s wealthiest under-35s. The youngest of whom Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel who at 25 already boasts a personal fortune of $1.9 billion.

Topping the list (as if his grinning face wasn’t a big enough spoiler), Facebook’s co-founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg has $41.6 billion to his name, with former colleague Dustin Moskovitz in second place with less than a quarter of what’s in Zuck’s coffers.
Interestingly, 11 of the world’s top 20 wealthiest under-35s are from the US, while three are from China (including Hong Kong) and another three are Swiss. Six women are on the list, the highest of which is Huiyan Yang, the 34-year-old vice chairman of Chinese real estate developer Country Garden Holdings who has $5.9 billion to her name.
