A new set of luxury lodges are being slated for Mountainside Northstar, Lake Tahoe’s renowned ski-in/ski-out community.
The Stellar Collection is being advertised as “the progressive mountain retreat for the Northstar of the 21st century” and developers have already broken ground on the new accommodations, which are already available to purchase.
Northstar will comprise six single-family homes, known as Stellar Residences, as well as 11 Stellar Townhomes, the designs of which were handed over to Bay Area-based Bohlin Cywinski Jackson who is best known as the lead design agency for Apple stores globally.
“We’ve learned from work in the Bay Area that there’s an appetite for an ‘alpine modern’ home, one that’s influenced by contemporary European mountain living,” said Gregory Mottola, principal of BCJ’s San Francisco office.
“The plans are thoughtful and concise. Instead of a lot of decorative flourishes, the design has been distilled to its essence. Stellar is the progressive mountain retreat for the Northstar of the 21st century.”
Both types of accommodation give direct access to the ski runs and hiking trails of Northstar California. The 3,400-square-foot Stellar Residences are available in two floor plans, with large outdoor spaces – plenty of room for the hot tub and fire pit.
All of the four-bedroom homes include a master suite and guest master bedroom, three (and a half) bathrooms, a ski room, two-car garage, media room and a main living area with a fireplace, dining and kitchen space.
Pricing for Stellar Residences starts at US $3,395,000, and Stellar Townhomes at $2,065,000. That includes a two-year family membership to The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe and membership at Tahoe Mountain Club, which gives access to the exclusive Schaffer’s Camp.
