St. Regis, Six Senses and Autograph Collection are just some of the luxurious hotel groups that have committed to bring their own take on hospitality to Saudi Arabia in the past 12 months and the influx of five-star properties shows no signs of stopping with the Jumeirah Group opening its first hotel in the Kingdom.

The second phase of Mecca’s flagship Jabal Omar project, the Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah is home to 507 rooms, and suites across two high-rise towers that yield views over the city and Great Mosque of Makkah. A further 526 rooms and suites will be added in future phases of expansion of the property.

Those searching for the ultimate in privacy and exclusivity can take advantage of a special feature that allows guests to book an entire floor, encompassing 14 rooms and suites.

There will also be some 88 residences that sit across the podium of the four towers that will offer spacious terraces, enabling residents to partake in group prayers at the mosque from the comfort of their home.

Eight restaurants are set to entice the city’s gastronomes with Patras serving up Mediterranean dishes and the lobby lounge pouring specialty teas and plating baked goods. Six more venues are in the pipeline featuring a signature regional Arabesque restaurant alongside Persian, Middle Eastern, South-east Asian, and Indo-Pakistani restaurants, and a café offering the finest teas and French pastries and breads.

Designed by Fosters + Partners architects, the hotel is located only a 15-minute stroll from the Great Mosque of Makkah and the Holy Kaaba and is one of several hotels in the Jabal Omar project that are already welcoming guests including Address Jabal Omar Address, Jabal Omar Marriott, and Jabal Omar Conrad.

“We are proud to have opened the first Jumeirah hotel in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in such a significant location, in partnership with Jabal Omar Development Company. Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah will deliver the exceptional service that Jumeirah is known for, enabling an enhanced experience for all who are visiting Makkah,” Katerina Giannouka, Chief Executive Officer of Jumeirah Group.
