It’s all aboard to Nha Trang, as The Vietage by Anantara has announced a new luxury railway route to the coastal resort city in south Vietnam.

Scheduled to begin its first trip on May 15, 2024, the 12-seat carriage will operate a daily return journey between Nha Trang and Quy Nhon, making it Anantara’s second route in the country after Da Nang to Quy Nhon was launched in 2020 as a unique Vietnamese luxury travel experience that offers old-world comfort, breath-taking views, and exclusive dining. Passengers can even combine their trip with stays at the Anantara Hoi An Resort, Anantara Quy Nhon Villas or Avani Quy Nhon Resort.

On board, passengers can expect private booths with mashrabiya-style screens and large, comfortable seats which come with a little basket underneath that contains a neck pillow, blanket, eye-mask and slippers. And should you need to do some work, the booth comes with plugs and WiFi.

When it is time to socialise, the sit-up bar gives you the chance to mingle with fellow travellers, whilst sampling local craft beers, wines, and snacks. For food, dishes are described as “essentially Vietnamese but with a French twist”: think traditional seafood salad, barley risotto, braised Waygu neck with dessert serving up Da Lat strawberries, passion fruit tart and crème brulée made with superior Dong Nai chocolate. House wines are included in the train ticket, but you can elevate the experience by plumping for premium wines and Champagne.

And for those who need some extra indulgence, two massage chairs placed by the window in the dedicated spa area enable passengers to enjoy a head and shoulder massage as they glide past the countryside.

Reservations for the new route between Nha Trang and Quy Nhon will open on February 1, 2024.
