Lucy Liu is the latest starlet to jump aboard the Mandarin Oriental fan bandwagon.
The Hollywood darling and Charlie’s Angel was announced as the latest addition to the hotel chain’s multi-million dollar global advertising campaign, “He’s a Fan/She’s a Fan”.
Liu is the 28th celebrity fan, joining the likes of Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey and Sigourney Weaver as an A-list brand ambassador who will regularly stay at the group’s hotels. And, in return for the celebs’ support, Mandarin Oriental makes a donation to a chosen charity.
In this case, Liu has selected UNICEF, an organisation she has worked with for a decade, as well as Ignite, which is a Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) arts programme for children.
In addition, portrait photographer Mary McCartney has snapped the 45-year-old star in her location of choice – New York City.
Liu was born in New York and commented on the Mandarin Oriental, New York’s excellent location and proximity to Central Park, where she also claims to partake in the ‘delicious and comforting’ Chinese breakfast whenever she stays.
